First Steps & Fees
Coming to therapy for the first time can be an intimidating and challenging step. Many individuals experience feelings of shame, embarrassment, or self-judgment at the thought of seeking help, which can lead them to overlook opportunities for meaningful growth and transformation. Similarly, cultural or personal beliefs that equate therapy with weakness, deficiency, or failure can create a sense of pride-based resistance, discouraging people from engaging with issues that might otherwise significantly enhance their well-being. These barriers—whether rooted in fear, stigma, or misconceptions—can prevent exploration of important themes and life challenges, limiting the potential benefits that therapy can offer across emotional, relational, and personal domains.
If you have any queries or questions prior to a consultation, please contact me at barney@talkworkstherapy.com. I can happily advise whether your reasons for coming to therapy are applicable, whether short or longer term therapy may be of most use to you, or if other services may address your needs better.
The standard fee for a UK session is £85, for the Czech Republic is 1600Kc.
Fees can be discussed at assessment. Variable and low-cost rates may be offered in cases when it is appropriate to the engagement.
